The Work

Can something that has been discarded as useless and unnecessary still hold meaning and value? Recycling has many faces. Behind every discarded object, revelations can be found—not a forgotten past, but the promise of a hopeful future.

Over several years, I toured numerous landfills, moving on all fours, crawling and climbing across mountains of waste with my camera around my neck. These sites became my personal challenges to conquer—my Mount Everest, my pilgrimage. The images created there serve as a metaphor for the times we live in.

All discarded objects were photographed exactly as I found them—unstaged, raw, and real. Each image was composed directly in the camera’s viewfinder, cropped in the moment to become what I wanted it to be.

The work rests on four cornerstones: tolerance, caring, humanity, and dignity.
